VIRGINIA BEACH A teenager will be tried as an adult to face charges he shot a 41-year-old acquaintance to death last year. A grand jury indictment Monday charged Tyler Austin King with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Mariano Mosely Lacerna. King was arrested almost immediately after the Dec. 2 shooting, but police withheld his name because he was only 17 at the time.

Hubbard pleads guilty in Va. Beach pharmacy slaying

VIRGINIA BEACH After killing an Oceanfront pharmacist and after robbing a second pharmacy of oxycodone and Percocet, Walter Lane Hubbard drove to a friend's place to lie low. He later told police he gave the friend some pills and left the Colony Trailer Park within minutes. Hubbard was worried someone had seen the car he was driving, according to court documents. He was right.

VIRGINIA BEACH Police have charged a woman with murder after the death of a man hit by a car in a school parking lot this weekend. Officers were called to Plaza Middle School at 3080 S. Lynnhaven Road about 5:30 a.m. Saturday on a report that a man had been struck. Richard Owen Pentz, 47, of the 800 block of Crepe Myrtle Lane, was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Hubbard indicted in Oceanfront pharmacist shooting

VIRGINIA BEACH Walter Lane Hubbard was indicted by a grand jury today in the April shooting death of an Oceanfront pharmacist. The indictment means Hubbard will stand trial in Circuit Court on charges of shooting and killing David Kilgore on April 14. Hubbard, 55, faces counts of first-degree murder, robbery, attempted robbery and three of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
